hi i'm dashiell
I am a generalist game programmer with a focus on gameplay, but I also do game design,
server backends, UI, and more.
Here's some stuff I worked on:

Mr. Mine
Mr. Mine was my first experience making games professionally. I started with an established code
base and gradually built it up while refactoring existing code to meet improved standards.
Over time, I took on more responsibility, designing and implementing major gameplay and UI systems and leading development on the iOS and Android ports of the game.

Clicker Heroes (Unity Rerelease)
Clicker Heroes was originally a Flash game, later ported to Unity and rereleased.
I contributed gameplay and UI code to the Unity release, along with a save management
system that became a reusable component across multiple Unity projects.
Porting and improving existing code while maintaining its quirks was an interesting challenge. It also made me really appreciate the existence of fan wikis, which helped ensure feature parity across game versions.

Brightsound
Brightsound was my first Unity project. Originally made with a few friends for Global Game Jam,
we continued to develop the game over the next year and eventually won semifinalist at IEEE Gamesig.
I designed, prototyped, and implemented gameplay systems, learning valuable lessons about how not to do those things along the way. Most importantly, this project helped me discover my passion for making games.

Unity DOTS Demo
This is a small 3D platformer made in Unity using the Data-Oriented Technology Stack.
It was really interesting to try something new after using ECS and OOP for so long.
The project served as both a performance experiment and a practical demonstration of DOTS in action—along with a visual reminder of why programmers shouldn't be responsible for art direction.

SupportThe.Band
SupportThe.Band is a web app I made to help Spotify users purchase their music on Bandcamp, making
it easier to support independent artists.
Supporting artists is very important to me, and this project was an opportunity to learn new skills while creating a tool that benefits both listeners and creators.
